What areas are included in my hire?
You’ll have exclusive use of Bunyan’s Barn, the old Bull Pens Bar, the Old Dairy as a preparation space, and selected meadow areas with optional access and the surrounding Manor gardens.
What is the capacity of Bunyan’s Barn and outdoor spaces?
Bunyan’s Barn can seat up to 140 guests at long or round tables, with plenty of room for additional standing guests.There are no restrictions on numbers for the gardens and outdoor areas at Maydencroft Manor or at St Ibbs Park (subject to marquee size).
Do you recommend any suppliers?
Yes, we will share a list of trusted suppliers, including caterers, florists, lighting, and AV who know the venue well. You are also welcome to bring your own suppliers, subject to our conditions.
Can we bring food trucks?
We welcome professional caterers and food trucks, subject to prior approval and insurance documentation.
Can we bring in our own suppliers?
Yes, we welcome your choice of caterers, florists, stylists, and musicians, or you can select from our recommended local partners familiar with the site.
How long is the hire period?
72 hours, including the day before and the day after your wedding — giving you plenty of time to set up and pack down.
Do you provide tables, chairs, or linens?
Furniture hire is flexible. You can bring your own or use our trusted hire partners who know the layout and logistics of the barn.
Is there heating or cooling in the barn?
Bunyan’s Barn is not heated. Space heater hire is possible, though most couples find it unnecessary. We only offer venue hire from May to September for this reason.
Is parking available?
Yes, we have a large private parking area at Maydencroft Manor with easy access for guests, suppliers, and large vehicles such as catering vans and lorries. St Ibbs Park also has parking for more than 100 cars, on grassland rather than hardstanding.
Is there disabled access?
Yes, Bunyan's Barn and key areas of the grounds Maydencroft Manor are wheelchair accessible, and there is a disabled loo. Please let us know if guests require additional support.
Can I charge my car?
Yes, there are two EV charging points. However, when in use they draw significant power from the barn during events, so we usually deactivate them to ensure the music keeps playing!
Can we leave cars overnight?
Yes, cars can be left overnight and collected the following morning.
Can we bring dogs?
Yes, we love dogs and welcome them as part of the wedding party. However, we recommend that only the couple’s dogs attend, as additional dogs can cause chaos. Please note we have peacocks and chickens on site.
Can we hold our ceremony at the Manor?
Yes, for an additional charge. You are very welcome to hold a non-legal ceremony with a celebrant in Bunyan’s Barn, gardens, or meadows, allowing you to celebrate your marriage in your own personal style.
Is the venue licensed for civil ceremonies?
Maydencroft Manor is not currently licensed for legal ceremonies. Most couples choose to have a simple legal signing beforehand, followed by a full blessing or celebratory ceremony here.
Is there a church nearby?
Yes. St Ippolyts Church is a five-minute drive from Maydencroft Manor and sits next to St Ibbs Park. Guests can park at the church and drive to the manor after the ceremony.
How do we secure our date?
A signed hire agreement and a booking deposit are required to confirm your date. The remaining balance is typically due eight weeks before your wedding.
Can we visit before booking?
Absolutely, we’d love to show you around. Private viewings are available by appointment.
Do you allow multiple weddings?
No. Each booking is exclusive use, ensuring your day is entirely your own.
Do you offer dry hire or full-service packages?
We offer both. Many couples prefer a simple dry hire to design their day freely, while others choose our recommended full-service options.
Do you provide on-site accommodation?
There is no on-site overnight accommodation, but we can recommend a range of charming hotels, B&Bs, and cottages nearby for you and your guests.
Can we camp or use glamping tents?
Yes, guests are welcome to camp in a nearby meadow (with their own facilities) for an additional charge.
Can the bridal party get ready at the Manor?
Yes, the Old Dairy is a private, well-lit, and warm space with adjacent loos where the bridal party can get ready.

Can we extend hire times?
Yes, by arrangement. Additional hours may be available depending on local noise and licensing conditions.
What are your noise restrictions?
Music must finish by 11pm, and guests depart by midnight, in keeping with our rural setting and local regulations.
Can alcohol be served onsite?
Yes, you can bring your own drinks, or hire a professional bar company. There is no corkage.
Are there any décor restrictions?
Freestanding or gently tied decorations such as flowers or drapes hung from beams and walls are welcome. Bunyan’s Barn is a listed historic structure so we ask that no drilling, nailing, taping, fixing, or structural alterations take place.
Are marquees allowed in the gardens or meadows?
Yes, marquees are welcome by prior arrangement and an additional hire fee.
Can we have fireworks or sparklers?
Possibly, but only by prior arrangement. Because livestock graze nearby, fireworks may require relocating animals, which would incur an additional charge. Sparklers are permitted in designated areas.
Are we allowed candles?
Yes, real candles are permitted if enclosed within lanterns or hurricane glass. Real tapered candles on tables are not allowed, though most florists can provide excellent faux alternatives.
Do you allow confetti?
Yes, biodegradable confetti only, please.
Do you host multicultural or multi-day weddings?
Yes, we welcome all faiths and traditions and can tailor your hire for multi-day celebrations.
Can we bring ceremonial structures or cooking setups?
Yes, subject to safety and site approval. We’re happy to discuss your requirements in advance.
What makes Maydencroft Manor environmentally different?

How is the site managed sustainably?
We use renewable energy where possible, promote local suppliers, avoid single-use plastics, and manage the grounds using conservation grazing and nature-friendly farming.
Can we make our wedding greener?
Yes. We can suggest local florists who use British-grown flowers, caterers with low-waste menus, and sustainable décor hire companies.
Do you have a sound limit?
No, but we ask all entertainment to be considerate and within reasonable decibel limits for our rural setting.
Are there any access restrictions for lorries?
No. Lorries can easily access the car park and barn areas.
Is there wifi?
There is limited wifi at Maydencroft Manor in certain areas of the property, though we recommend downloading playlists and content in advance as signal strength varies.
Do you have any lighting or generator hire partners?
We can recommend trusted local suppliers who are familiar with the site and power setup for St Ibbs Park.
What power is available?
Bunyan’s Barn and Maydencroft Manor have a single-phase 240v supply with one 32amp socket for a band or DJ — ample for typical setups. There are eight 13amp sockets in the catering area. To avoid tripping the fuse, we suggest caterers use gas ovens where possible. There is no electricity at St Ibbs Park so generator hire will be required.
What lighting do we have?
Bunyan’s Barn has beautiful uplighting and disco lighting, and most DJs bring their own effects. The Old Bull Pens Bar is lit, and festoon lighting can be added around the venue for ambience. The car park area is well lit.
Can I arrive by helicopter?
Yes. You can land helicopters in one of our adjacent meadows by prior arrangement.
